He showed great interest in the Ukraine war on his social media accounts. He claimed he was trying to recruit people to fight for Ukraine.
According to Newsweek, in an interview for the March 25, 2023, edition of The New York Times (NYT), he stated that he had spent several months in Ukraine in 2022 and was recruiting soldiers who had escaped from Afghanistan to fight for Ukraine, including those fleeing the Taliban.
In a March 10, 2023, article by the online media Semaphore, he is described as leading a civilian organization called the Ukraine International Resource Center. This organization connected foreigners who wanted to support Ukraine’s war efforts with military units and support groups.
In a June 2022 interview with Newsweek Romania, he said he came to Kyiv to help Ukraine, stating, "Many other wars are gray areas, but this war is clearly black and white," and "This war is a battle between good and evil."
According to CBS News, he had previously posted on X (formerly Twitter) about former President Trump, saying, "I chose you in 2016, and the world and I hoped President Trump would be different and better than candidate Trump, but we were all greatly disappointed, and you seem to be getting worse and regressing," and "I would be glad if you disappeared."
He also mentioned the assassination attempt on Trump that occurred on July 13 in Pennsylvania in several posts. He implied that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris should have visited the wounded who were shot while attending the campaign and paid respects at the funeral of the deceased.
