Chung Yong-jin, chairman of Shinsegae Group, has posted a new update on his social networking service (SNS) account. This is his first post since assuming the chairmanship in March.

Chairman Chung is a leading business influencer with nearly 820,000 followers. Known as "Yongjin-i hyung," he has actively communicated with his followers. Due to his candid and informal sharing, he has been involved in several controversies.

The new post uploaded on the 15th after six months is a photo of a black T-shirt with the English phrase "Freedom is Not Free" printed on it. It is presumed to be worn by Chairman Chung himself. He posted only the photo without any explanation. Comments on the post are disabled.

After being promoted from group vice chairman to chairman in March, Chung suspended all SNS activities. Most of his previous posts have been removed. The last remaining post dates back to February 19.

Recently, he has taken strong personnel reshuffling measures to manage the crisis in underperforming business units. This signals a "reward and punishment" personnel policy toward chronically unprofitable affiliates. While Shinsegae Group has traditionally held year-end regular personnel evaluations to hold management accountable, since Chairman Chung's appointment, disciplinary personnel actions have been carried out through investigative personnel reviews.
