'Doctor Blacklist' Update... Even Mocking "Police Stop Fooling Around"

Telegram Anonymous Blog Archive 'New Version' Announcement
Emergency Room Doctor List Removed... Others Remain Public

Despite the government and judicial authorities expressing their intention to take strict action against the archive (information repository) site that maliciously disclosed the real names of emergency room doctors, an updated version of the site has appeared.

On the 15th, Yonhap News reported that a new version of the 'Thankful Doctors List' site, which disclosed the personal information of doctors and medical students who did not participate in collective action, was released the day before. The site sarcastically refers to resident doctors currently working and medical students remaining at universities as 'thankful doctors' and publicly reveals their personal information.

Furthermore, on the 7th, the site stirred controversy by disclosing the personal information of doctors working in emergency rooms. After receiving heavy criticism, the site removed the emergency room doctors' list but re-disclosed the personal information of resident doctors and fellows working at hospitals, medical students remaining in classrooms, and doctors encouraged to return.

'Doctor Blacklist' Update... Even Mocking "Police Stop Fooling Around" The government has decided to operate the "Chuseok Holiday Emergency Response Week" for two weeks starting from the 11th to prepare for a surge in emergency patients during the Chuseok holiday. The poster, Mr. A, announced the address of the upgraded list site through an anonymous Telegram blog. He said, "I saw that the emergency room list was introduced negatively in the media," and apologized to the public for causing discomfort, stating, "I will take down the emergency room list." However, he added, "There are still accumulated reports that have not been reflected yet," and "I will continue to update the list going forward."

Mr. A then harshly criticized the recent police request for an arrest warrant against a doctor who created a list of returning resident doctors, using derogatory expressions toward the police. He raised his voice, saying, "I heard they are falsely accusing someone who knows nothing of operating a Telegram chatroom, conducting searches, and now also accusing of operating the archive." He claimed that he is "neither a doctor nor a medical student" and that he is "helping at the request of a doctor who has shown great kindness." He also said, "I hope the police stop their nonsense and stop harassing the doctors."

Earlier, on the 13th, the Public Investigation Division 3 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Tae-hoon) requested a pre-arrest warrant from the police on charges of violating the Stalking Crime Punishment Act against Mr. B, a resigned resident doctor who posted the 'medical community blacklist' multiple times on Medistaff and Telegram. Mr. A stated that he is a different person from Mr. B.

Meanwhile, after this archive disclosed the emergency room doctors' blacklist, the government stated it would respond strictly. Prime Minister Han Duck-soo said, "We will track down and punish the creators and distributors of the blacklist to the end," and the Presidential Office emphasized, "Doxxing is a clear criminal act that must be severely punished." On the other hand, the Korean Medical Association expressed "serious regret for causing public concern" but blamed the cause of the blacklist distribution on "the doctors' desperation," drawing public criticism.
