The auction works by the selected artists will be available for viewing on the Seoul Auction website from November 18th until the online auction closing date on November 30th.

The Zero Base auction is characterized by the starting bid price of the works being zero won, allowing buyers to directly determine the price of works by artists whose prices have not yet been established in the market.

Since 2020, the Jeonnam Cultural Foundation and Seoul Auction have held the Zero Base auction annually to support local artists' entry into the art market. Over the past four years, all 296 submitted works have been successfully sold.

This call for applications is open to artists in the field of art who currently reside in Jeonnam, were born in Jeonnam, or graduated from elementary, middle, high schools, or universities located in Jeonnam, regardless of their career experience.

Artists selected through this call will be able to submit their works to the Seoul Auction online auction held on November 30th. In addition to participating in the online auction, selected artists will also have the opportunity to exhibit their works offline at the Seoul Auction Gangnam Center and Hwasun Hanium Center during November.

A representative from Seoul Auction stated, "The Zero Base auction, which we have collaborated on annually with the Jeonnam Cultural Foundation since 2020, receives great attention as it introduces artists who have established their own artistic worlds in the region to the metropolitan art market. Seoul Auction will continue to explore new and innovative ways to discover artists and works that have not received sufficient recognition in the art market."

Kim Eun-young, CEO of the Jeonnam Cultural Foundation, said, "The '2024 Zero Base x Jeonnam Cultural Foundation' auction is being held to discover artists who have steadily developed their artistic worlds and support their entry into the metropolitan art market. We will continue to build an environment where talented artists in the Jeonnam region can actively work."
