MG Saemaeul Geumgo-Senior Support Center for the Elderly Living Alone Sign Agreement
Yeongdeok County in North Gyeongsang Province held a ceremony on the 12th to deliver "AI Companion Robots for Seniors" in order to provide psychologically and physically healthy care services to elderly people living alone.
The event was attended by Kim Kwangyeol, Mayor of Yeongdeok County, Lee Sanghwa, Director of MG Community Credit Cooperative Federation, and Kim Eungcheol, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Support Center for the Elderly Living Alone.
The AI companion robot provided this time is a care robot equipped with ChatGPT 4.0 Turbo. It serves as a conversational partner for seniors, providing emotional stability, and allows for the detection of abnormal signs through weekly reports. This enables the provision of comprehensive welfare services such as welfare, health, and safety to the recipients.
To effectively and stably implement this care service, the county entered into an agreement: MG Community Credit Cooperative will sponsor 50 companion robots for 50 elderly people living alone in the area, the Comprehensive Support Center for the Elderly Living Alone will cover maintenance costs, and the county will deliver and manage the service to recipients through customized care service support staff for seniors.
Mayor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "Thanks to the deep interest and love shown by various organizations and groups in our community, we can now guarantee a better life for seniors living alone and take a step forward in local welfare. Through this agreement, we hope to alleviate the shortage of care personnel and provide tailored care services so that our seniors can live even healthier lives."
