Various Options Including Interest-Free Installments Expansion and Instant Discounts
Credit card companies have launched discount benefits and events to promote consumption during the Chuseok holiday. This promotion aims to ease the burden on ordinary people who are worried about rising grocery prices due to high inflation and high interest rates.
According to the card industry on the 14th, BC Card is conducting a 'Sing' discount event for the Chuseok holiday. Along with discounts, gift certificate events are being held at Hyundai Department Store, Lotte Mart, E-Mart, Homeplus, GS The Fresh, E-Mart Everyday, Lotte Super, and others. At online markets such as Gmarket and Auction, the ongoing 'Hangawi Big Sale' offers an immediate 7% discount (up to 70,000 KRW) for payments over 50,000 KRW. A 'Local Brand' activation promotion to support small business sales and revitalize neighborhood markets is also being held in nine commercial districts in Seoul.
Shinhan Card offers up to 50% discounts on popular Chuseok gift toys and discounts on innerwear and small home appliances at Homeplus until the 18th. Until the 17th, E-Mart provides up to 30% discounts on Korean beef, imported meat, and seafood, and up to 20% discounts on kitchen and health appliances. Lotte Mart offers up to 30% discounts on fresh foods and popular processed foods. Hanaro Mart provides up to 40% discounts on fruits and livestock products.
Lotte Card is holding a Chuseok gift fair at 'Ding Shop' until the 18th. Customers can purchase event products in categories such as processed foods, fresh foods, and health foods at 5% lower prices. Additionally, an extra 5% or 7% discount is provided for payments over 50,000 KRW and 100,000 KRW respectively, with benefits up to 20,000 KRW.
Hana Card is also promoting consumption through the 'Abundant Chuseok Holiday Promotion.' Throughout September, customers who pay with Hana Card will receive prizes such as Hana Money and Shinsegae gift certificates. At E-Mart and Homeplus, customers can receive up to 50% discounts or gift certificates worth up to 4 million KRW.
NH Nonghyup Card is expanding interest-free installment plans up to six months throughout September. This applies to customers who make installment payments of 50,000 KRW or more per transaction using NH Nonghyup personal credit cards at Hanaro Mart, large marts, department stores, outlets, airlines, duty-free shops, travel agencies, electronics, furniture, and e-commerce sectors. Among customers who pay over 300,000 KRW, 1,200 will be selected by lottery to receive generous prizes.
KB Kookmin Card supports holiday travel by offering a 10% cashback up to 30,000 KRW when purchasing KTX tickets at Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL Talk, Let's KORAIL, KTX station counters) with KB Kookmin Green Card until the 30th. For accommodations, an additional 10% immediate discount is provided when paying 70,000 KRW or more after applying government-supported discount coupons on the KB Pay travel platform by the reservation deadline of the 29th.
