On the 13th (local time), Trump made these remarks during a press conference at his golf course in California when asked by CNN about concerns within his camp regarding his close relationship with Loomer.

Trump said, "Like many people, Laura is my supporter," adding, "I do not control Laura. Laura has to say what she wants. She is a free spirit." He continued, "I cannot tell Laura what to do."

When asked about Loomer's racist and conspiratorial remarks, Trump said it was the first time he had heard of such things. He stated, "She is a strong person. She has strong opinions. I don't know what she said, but that is not up to me. She is a supporter."

Earlier this week, Loomer posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) ahead of the first TV debate between former President Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris, who is of Indian mixed heritage, saying that if Harris wins the election, "the White House will smell like curry and White House speeches will be conducted through a call center."

Loomer, who has 1.2 million followers on X, is known for spreading various conspiracy theories, including claims that the 9/11 attacks were an inside job by the U.S. government. She also attends events supporting former President Trump.
