Prime Minister Han Duck-soo stated, "During the Chuseok holiday period, we will mobilize all available resources to ensure that there is no negligence in the emergency medical system and make our best efforts."
On the 14th, Prime Minister Han said on Facebook, "Although the circumstances are not easy, our medical system is still firmly capable of serving as a shield to protect the people."
Regarding medical reform, he added, "There may be various opinions, but we will listen humbly and, if it is something essential for the people, we will firmly push forward and implement it."
About emergency medical situations during the Chuseok holiday, he said, "It is a warm holiday when we can meet those we haven't seen for a long time, but it is also a period when more emergency patients occur than usual," and added, "Although the remaining medical staff are doing their best, there are difficulties as more than 10,000 personnel have left and have not returned."
He continued, "The government has designated the two weeks before and after Chuseok as the 'Chuseok Holiday Emergency Response Week' and is preparing for emergency medical care during the holiday," and requested, "We ask the public to show consideration by yielding emergency rooms and advanced hospitals to neighbors who are in more critical condition than themselves."
