On the 13th, Choi Pyungkyu, Chairman of SNT Group, made this statement as the group celebrated its 45th anniversary.
During the ceremony, Chairman Choi expressed his gratitude to all executives and employees, including those working at overseas sites, saying, "The 45-year history of SNT's bold challenges is the result of sacrifice and passion that overcame countless crises."
He diagnosed, "We live in an era where crisis is the norm," and added, "Just like the natural law of the tides, the global perfect storm continues to repeat waves of crises, both large and small, heading toward the peak of a great collapse."
He continued, "Following the collapse of the Chinese economy, the triple waves of recession in US manufacturing, high interest rates, high inflation, and high exchange rates are spreading the fear of 'R' (Recession) throughout the global economy. The belief that large companies cannot fail, known as Daemabulsah, no longer holds true."
Chairman Choi said, "Until now, we have focused on sound management with the attitude of 'quiet and heavy as a mountain' (Jeongjung-yeosan), building strong management fundamentals that can withstand any crisis."
He emphasized, "From now on, we must seize the historic opportunities after the perfect storm by practicing the certain victory strategy of Seonseung-gujeon, inspired by Admiral Yi Sunshin of the Joseon Dynasty."
He added, "Let us learn and boldly implement the Seonseung-gujeon strategy for certain victory, just as Admiral Yi, after first creating a strategic position for victory, went to battle and achieved the unprecedented record of 23 wins in 23 naval battles in world history."
He also urged, "Do not be complacent with our current achievements, but prepare for the future with unwavering resolve. Let us firmly continue the history of SNT with the attitude of Jeongjung-yeosan and the certain victory strategy of Seonseung-gujeon."
