Meeting with Ham Yunsik, Vice President of Woowa Brothers, on the 19th
"Fair Trade Commission report postponed until the end of this month"
The Korea Franchise Association announced on the 13th that it will meet with representatives from Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok, to discuss improvements to the delivery app's fee policy.
According to the association, the meeting scheduled for the 19th will be attended by Woowa Brothers Vice President Ham Yoon-sik and others. A representative of the association explained, "Baemin has proposed a progressive improvement plan regarding the fee policy, so after careful consideration, we decided to postpone the report."

The association had originally planned to report the delivery app operator's increase in delivery brokerage commission rates to the Fair Trade Commission as a violation of the Fair Trade Act, but decided to delay this plan until the end of this month.
Baemin stated, "Baemin has continuously communicated with various dining industry organizations so far," adding, "The meeting on the 19th is one of such communication opportunities, a usual dining occasion."
Earlier, on the 6th, the association held the "Franchise Delivery App Crisis Countermeasures Committee Inauguration Ceremony" at the Korea Franchise Industry Association meeting room in Gangseo-gu and announced its intention to report Baemin to the Fair Trade Commission.
A representative of the association explained, "When the Fair Trade Commission approved the merger and acquisition (M&A) of Baemin and Yogiyo, Baemin was designated as a monopolistic business operator," adding, "Monopolistic business operators cannot arbitrarily change conditions such as commission increases."
Last month, Baemin raised the brokerage commission rate for Baemin1 Plus (Baemin Delivery) to 9.8%, an increase of 3 percentage points from before.
