In line with the slogan "A Romantic Voyage to Find Dreams, 2024 Mokpo Career Compass Festival," selected through a contest and voting by students, parents, and faculty, the event was conducted to help students explore their careers.
The festival was an integrated education expo involving elementary, middle, and high schools, universities, public institutions, and career experience centers, organized into four main areas: ▲Self-Understanding Zone ▲Career and College Exploration Zone ▲Career Experience Zone ▲Career Planning Zone.
The 'Self-Understanding Zone' provided a space for one-on-one career and college counseling with parents and a simple career test, listening to students' concerns about their careers and offering solutions together with parents.
The 'Career and College Exploration Zone' allowed students from elementary, middle, and high schools to directly experience specialized high schools and university departments. The 'Career Experience Zone' and 'Career Planning Zone' offered opportunities for career exploration through introductions and experiences at public institutions and career experience centers, as well as career counseling.
Jo Jeong-in, a middle school 3rd-grade student who participated in the specialized high school experience, said, "I only thought about general high schools for high school admission, but through this event, I learned that specialized high schools offer various support and benefits."
Education Director Jeong Deok-won stated, "I hope this festival helped resolve the questions of students and parents who were very interested in career education," and added, "We will continue to strengthen career education support that both students and parents can feel."
