The Dong-eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo) baseball team announced that two students were selected and one was signed as a developmental player at the "2025 KBO Rookie Draft" held at Lotte Hotel in Seoul on the 11th.
Now in its fourth year since establishment, the Dong-eui Institute of Technology baseball team has solidified its status as a powerhouse in college baseball by producing two players in this year's draft and one developmental player, following one player selected in the 2024 KBO League Rookie Draft last year.
This year's draft was conducted in a full draft format with a total of 1,197 participants: 840 high school graduates-to-be, 286 college graduates-to-be, 56 early draft applicants, and 15 tryout participants. The selections were made from the 1st to the 11th round, in reverse order of the 2023 club rankings.
The Dong-eui Institute of Technology players selected in the draft are: Jaemoon Hong (4th round, 7th pick, NC Dinos), Jaehun Yang (7th round, 6th pick, Doosan Bears), and the developmental player is Junsang Kim (Doosan Bears).
The Dong-eui Institute of Technology has demonstrated its strength as a powerhouse team by achieving excellent results in national tournaments and even advancing to the championship round of the 2021 KUSF University Baseball U-League. Last year, outfielder Jemmo Yoo (Lotte Giants) was also selected in the KBO League Rookie Draft.
Dong-eui Institute of Technology baseball team manager Yeom Jongseok said, "Being selected and signed in this rookie draft is not just an individual achievement, but the result of the entire team's effort and passion," and added, "We will continue to strive so that our university can produce even better players in the future."
