Up to 50% Off at Large Marts... Discounts on Entertainment Too
The burden of expenses for the Chuseok holiday has increased due to high inflation. If you want to prepare gifts frugally or enjoy the holiday, it is a good idea to check out the various discount benefits offered by credit card companies and payment service providers (Pay) for Chuseok.
According to the financial sector on the 15th, Shinhan Card is holding a Chuseok event offering up to 50% discounts at marts and discount stores. At Homeplus, popular gift toys are discounted up to 50% until the 18th, along with discounts on underwear and small home appliances. At E-Mart, discounts of up to 30% on Korean beef, imported meat, and seafood, and up to 20% on kitchen and health appliances are available until the 17th. Lotte Mart offers discounts of up to 30% on fresh and processed foods, and Hanaro Mart provides up to 40% discounts on fruits and livestock products.
Lotte Card is holding a Chuseok gift fair on its app Digiroca’s Ding Shop until the 18th. When paying for event products such as processed, fresh, and health items, a 5% discount is given, and if you pay over 50,000 KRW, an additional discount of up to 7% (up to 20,000 KRW) is provided. For payments over 300,000 KRW, a 6-month interest-free installment plan is also available. There is also a transportation discount for Chuseok travelers. Until the 18th, customers who book an express bus for the first time through the Digiroca app will receive a 50% discount, up to 3,000 KRW.
Hana Card has prepared a ‘Bountiful Chuseok Holiday Promotion.’ Throughout September, customers who make payments of 1 KRW or more with Hana Card will receive benefits such as Hana Money, Shinsegae gift certificates, and a Galaxy Flip6 through a prize draw. Additionally, marts and discount stores like E-Mart and Homeplus offer up to 50% discounts or gift certificates worth up to 4 million KRW. At S-Oil, a 3,000 KRW billing discount is provided for payments over 50,000 KRW, and a 9,000 KRW movie ticket coupon for Lotte Cinema is also available.
Naver Pay is running a promotion until the 30th, offering discounts and point accumulation benefits when paying with Naver Pay at about 80 brands across 10 industries. During the holiday, visiting places like Seoul Land, Lotte World, and Hanwha Hotels & Resorts allows you to get admission tickets at up to 50% off or earn points. When paying on-site at Hanaro Mart with Naver Pay, 3,000 KRW is instantly credited, and when paying with Naver Pay on delivery apps like Baedal Minjok and Yogiyo, coupons worth up to 3,000 KRW are given.
