Jeon Seung-il, Chairman of the Gwangju Seo-gu Council, received the Grand Prize in the individual category for the 'Social Conflict Resolution' at the 9th Segye Ilbo Regional and Social Development Contribution Awards held at the Korea Press Center press conference room on the 12th.
The Segye Ilbo Regional and Social Development Contribution Awards were established to resolve regional conflicts and lay the foundation for peaceful reunification. A panel of experts evaluated the candidates and selected the winners. Among 243 local governments nationwide, Jeon Seung-il was the only recipient from the Honam region.
Chairman Jeon Seung-il stated, "I am honored to receive this contribution award as a result of dedicating myself to legislative activities aimed at resolving social conflicts," and added, "I will continue to lead the development of local politics and community harmony with a strong sense of mission and spirit of service based on change and innovation, working to improve the welfare of district residents."
