Bae Jinbeom, CEO of Mirae Thermotech, Selected as Cheonma Honors Member... Donates 100 Million Won to Alma Mater Yeungnam University

Yeungnam University (President Choi Oechul) announced on the 13th that Bae Jinbeom, CEO of Mirae Thermotech, has been selected as a member of 'Chunma Honors' and was awarded a certificate of recognition. 'Chunma Honors' is a donor recognition program established by Yeungnam University in 2020. It was created to honor major donors who have contributed to the university's development and to promote a new culture of giving within the university.


Bae Jinbeom, an alumnus of Yeungnam University's Department of Metallurgical Engineering, class of '81, currently operates Mirae Thermotech, a company specializing in thermal surface treatment. With a special interest and affection for his alma mater, Bae donated 100 million KRW in 2021, contributing to the university's growth.

Bae, who founded Mirae Thermotech in 2000, has overcome the limitations of small and medium-sized enterprises through innovation in heat treatment technology and consistent investment in research and development. As a result, the company has advanced into overseas markets and is expanding its competitiveness globally. In recognition of his contributions to national industrial development, he received the Prime Minister's Award at the Root Technology Competition in 2011 and 2013, and in 2017, Mirae Thermotech was designated as a promising export-oriented SME by the Small and Medium Business Administration.


At the Chunma Honors certificate award ceremony, Bae Jinbeom stated, "The knowledge I gained at university was a great help in managing my business. I only wanted to give back a little of what I received from my alma mater, so I made the donation, but I am grateful to be honored in this way." He added, "I hope that overcoming the difficult circumstances surrounding the university will help my alma mater grow and provide even a small benefit to the students who are studying here."


Choi Oechul, President of Yeungnam University, said, "On behalf of the university, I sincerely thank CEO Bae for always thinking of his alma mater and juniors and practicing sharing." He continued, "Following in the footsteps of CEO Bae, who has grown his company into one recognized for its outstanding technology through continuous effort, we will do our best to nurture talents who will contribute to the common prosperity of humanity beyond Korea. Please continue to watch over us with affection and interest."


Yeungnam University grants 'Chunma Honors' membership to individuals and organizations (groups) who have donated more than 100 million KRW and have made significant contributions to the university's development, as well as those with high social recognition and influence. Currently, more than 100 individuals and organizations have been selected as members. Yeungnam University holds certificate award ceremonies for these members and operates various donor recognition programs, including presenting certificates and inviting members as guests to major university events.
