Gangseo-gu to Operate Holiday 'Integrity Promotion Week' Until the 23rd of This Month Integrity Letter from Gangseo-gu. Provided by Gangseo-gu.

Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) announced on the 13th that it will operate a two-week intensive integrity promotion week until the 23rd of this month to foster a clean public service atmosphere in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.

The purpose is to eradicate the customary exchange of gifts that may occur before the holiday and to promote a clean Chuseok holiday.

To spread a culture of integrity both internally and externally, Gangseo-gu will carry out various integrity promotion activities targeting all employees and residents of the district. The main activities include ▲ posting integrity letters ▲ conducting campaigns to eradicate corrupt practices ▲ promoting correct understanding of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act.

The integrity letters were posted separately for employees and residents. The letter addressed to all employees contains compliance guidelines such as eradicating customary gift exchanges during holidays and personnel seasons. The letter to residents expresses the district’s commitment to integrity and requests their participation in spreading a culture of integrity for the holiday.

To eradicate corrupt practices, the district posted promotional materials titled ‘No Giving or Receiving Holiday Gifts’ in the government office and is conducting campaigns through broadcasts. Additionally, a mock training is conducted by setting up hypothetical corruption scenarios to practice reporting violations of integrity obligations.

Furthermore, the district promotes the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act and the corruption and public interest reporting system to residents through the district website and social networking services (SNS). Card news that is easy for residents to understand was produced, covering gift regulations under the Act, gift value limits applied before and after holidays, targets for corruption and public interest reporting, and reporting methods.

Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “The first step toward citizen-centered, accessible administration is integrity,” adding, “All employees will continuously strive to spread a culture of integrity, and we ask residents to actively participate in making Gangseo transparent and clean.”
