The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will open more than 1,200 parking lots at educational institutions under its jurisdiction free of charge during the Chuseok holiday period.
On the 13th, the Office announced that it decided to open parking lots at affiliated educational institutions and schools free of charge to provide parking convenience for visitors returning home and local residents visiting Gyeonggi Province during the Chuseok holiday.
The free parking lot opening period is from the 14th to the 18th, when the Chuseok holiday begins. The institutions opening their parking lots include the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, its direct affiliates, education support offices, libraries, training centers, and schools within the province, totaling more than 1,200 locations. The opening hours are individually set by each school or institution or operated all day long.
Information on parking lots open free of charge during the holiday period can be checked from the 13th, one day before the holiday, through Shared Nuri (www.eshare.go.kr), the Public Data Portal (www.data.go.kr), or portal sites.
Users of the open parking lots must leave their contact information on the front of their vehicles in case of emergencies.
Kim Eun-gyu, Director of Financial Management at the Office of Education, said, "We hope that opening school facility parking lots during the Chuseok holiday will help alleviate parking difficulties in residential areas and provide convenience for visitors returning home." He also urged, "Since these are educational facilities, please comply with usage rules such as prohibiting damage to school facilities and illegal dumping of trash."
