A story has emerged about a daughter-in-law who causes trouble in her in-laws' household and a woman who wishes not to meet her during the holidays.
On the 12th, JTBC's 'Case Captain' revealed the story of a woman in her 60s who has been experiencing conflicts with her daughter-in-law ahead of the holidays. Having endured harsh treatment during her own marriage into the family, the mother-in-law firmly vowed, "I will never make my daughter-in-law suffer." However, the daughter-in-law did absolutely no work even when she came down for the holidays, and when the grandson said, "I want to eat fruit," she just stared blankly at the mother-in-law instead of peeling it herself. In the end, the mother-in-law had to peel the fruit and bring it to the daughter-in-law. After the meal, while washing the dishes, the mother-in-law asked the daughter-in-law to "wipe the table," but even that was passed off to her son.
Still, the mother-in-law did not want to force the daughter-in-law to work or start fights. Eventually, she said, "Don't come down for the holidays; you two should just go on a trip," but her son insisted, "You still have to come during the holidays," and always visited. Then one day, the daughter-in-law unexpectedly suggested to the mother-in-law, "We will prepare everything for the ancestral rites, so how about you come up here?" proposing a reverse holiday visit. She added, "Just prepare fish and sanjeok (skewered meat)." The mother-in-law prepared the requested dishes and took the bus up. She was met at the terminal by the daughter-in-law and arrived at the house, but felt uncomfortable when the daughter-in-law covered the door lock with her body as if treating her like a thief while entering the password.
After entering the house, the daughter-in-law started frying pancakes with her son. However, she openly scolded him, saying, "Doesn't the oil splatter everywhere? What can you do properly?" She even told the grandson, "You must never take after your dad." Eventually, the mother-in-law told the daughter-in-law to "lower your voice," trying to settle the situation.
Later, the daughter-in-law came to the family dinner alone, bringing a lot of soju and beer. She drank continuously without any side dishes and shouted at the mother-in-law in front of the relatives, "I feel hurt." She went on, "Why do I have to stay here and not go to my own home?
