LG Electronics Wins Two Gold Awards at Global Design Competition IDEA

A Total of 23 Awards Including 2 Golds
LG Comfort Kit and Gram Fold Featured

LG Electronics received 23 awards, including two Gold Awards, at the globally prestigious design competition IDEA. The awards were given for designs embodying social value and sustainability.

On the 13th, LG Electronics announced that it won a total of 23 awards at IDEA, including two Gold Awards, one Silver Award, and three Bronze Awards. Products such as the 'LG Comfort Kit' and 'LG Gram Fold' received Gold Awards.

First, the LG Comfort Kit is an auxiliary accessory designed to help users easily operate LG Electronics home appliances regardless of gender, age, or disability. It includes a total of seven kits, such as the 'Easy Handle,' which allows users to easily open and close doors by hanging their arm on the door of washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, and more. The kits feature designs that are easy to attach and detach from existing products without feeling out of place. Made from recycled plastic, they contribute to building a circular economy.

The LG Gram Fold inherits the ultra-lightweight and large-screen identity of the LG Gram and adds the freedom of folding and unfolding the screen. Utilizing the advantages of thin and flexible OLED, it offers an optimal user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) tailored to a form factor that changes from a 12-inch laptop when folded to a 17-inch tablet when unfolded.

When folded like a book, the screen automatically rotates and adjusts its aspect ratio. Like a tablet, users can draw with a touch pen or split the screen to perform two tasks simultaneously. A virtual keyboard can be activated on the lower screen, or a wireless keyboard can be placed to use it like a traditional laptop. The matte glass applied to the front and back of the product adds a premium feel. Made from magnesium alloy, it is durable and weighs only about 1250g, making it easy to carry.

The projector 'LG CineBeam Cube,' which delivers clear 4K UHD resolution on a massive screen up to 120 inches, received a Silver Award. The high-efficiency heat pump heating and cooling system 'LG Therma V R290 Monoblock,' the 'LG Whisen Dehumidifier' equipped with a dual inverter compressor, and 'LG CLOi UX 2.0,' which improves accessibility to the LG CLOi ServeBot, received Bronze Awards. Previously, the CLOi ServeBot won the 'Best Award' at this year’s Red Dot Design Award and Ergonomic Design Award.

Additionally, 17 products and services, including monitors, air conditioners, washing machines, dryers, humidifiers, speakers, micro LED signage, webOS UX, LG ThinQ UX, and sound UX, received main awards.
