US Initial Jobless Claims at 230,000... Exceed Market Expectations

According to the U.S. Department of Labor on the 12th (local time), the number of new unemployment benefit claims for the week of September 1-7 was recorded at 230,000. This is an increase of 2,000 claims compared to the previous week's figure (228,000) and 3,000 claims above experts' forecast (227,000).

The number of continuing unemployment benefit claims, which counts those claiming benefits for at least two weeks, was recorded at 1.85 million for the week of August 25-31. This is 5,000 claims more than the revised figure for the previous week (1.845 million). It met the market expectation of 1.85 million.

Amid concerns that the U.S. labor market is rapidly slowing down, investors are closely monitoring employment trends.
