On the 12th, Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Gyeonggi Province, Yangju City, and the Venture Business Association at the Venture Business Association in Guro-gu, Seoul, to attract anchor companies (leading companies) to Yangju Technovalley and to promote the influx of venture startups.
Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to attract venture companies to Yangju Technovalley.
On the 12th, GH announced that it signed an MOU with Gyeonggi Province, Yangju City, and the Venture Business Association at the Venture Business Association in Guro-gu, Seoul, to attract anchor companies (leading companies) to Yangju Technovalley and to revitalize the influx of venture startups.
According to the agreement, the participating organizations will promote ▲ mutual cooperation to attract anchor companies and venture businesses ▲ creation of an environment and establishment of strategies to revitalize the influx of venture startups ▲ strengthening administrative support to activate the venture ecosystem in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province ▲ development of complex infrastructure combining housing, industry, culture, and education.
Yangju Technovalley is the largest urban high-tech industrial complex in northern Gyeonggi, being developed over 218,000 square meters in the Nambang-dong and Majon-dong areas of Yangju City, with an investment of 110.4 billion KRW and a target completion year of 2026.
The plan is to foster it as the "Northern Pangyo," leading growth in northern Gyeonggi by integrating information and communication technology (IT) with Yangju’s specialized industries such as textiles, and attracting advanced new industries like display and mobility.
Kim Se-yong, president of GH, promised, "We will develop Yangju Technovalley into an urban high-tech industrial complex where companies, universities, and talent gather to realize the concept of jikjullak-hak (職住樂學: living, working, and learning happily in one place)."
Meanwhile, the signing ceremony was attended by Kim Seong-jung, First Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province; Kang Su-hyun, Mayor of Yangju City; Oh Wan-seok, Head of GH Balanced Development Headquarters; Seong Sang-hyeop, Chairman of the Venture Business Association; and Jeong Seong-ho, Member of the National Assembly (Democratic Party).
