Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will hold the ‘2024 Youth Policy Promotion Exhibition’ on September 21 at Konkuk University Common Ground to celebrate Youth Day.
Youth Day is a legally designated commemorative day to raise awareness of the importance of guaranteeing youth rights and youth development, observed on the third Saturday of September every year.
This year, the event will be held at the popular venue among young people, Konkuk University Common Ground, starting at 3 PM on the 21st, Youth Day.
Under the concept of ‘Gwangjin Marble,’ a journey to explore Gwangjin-gu’s youth policies, visitors can get an overview of youth policies by sector and enjoy various cultural experience events.
Youth booths will be operated. Thirteen youth-related organizations will participate to introduce youth policies. The event will be packed with 14 booths offering quiz games, health check-ups, doll making, startup and financial support consultations, and more. Twelve flea markets will showcase products from young entrepreneurs, including fruit juices, desserts, wallets, and pet supplies.
Additionally, a photo zone will be set up at the entrance of the venue. Along with a blue photo zone reminiscent of the board game Blue Marble, there will be a rest zone and a photo booth line offering unique attractions. The background of the photo booth pictures will include a panoramic view of Gwangjin-gu.
On-site voting for the Youth Policy Contest will also take place. Fifteen proposals will be posted on a bulletin board where visitors can attach stickers to their preferred policies. The final selection will be made at the end of September by combining scores from online pre-voting held until the 20th, on-site voting, and expert evaluations. Online pre-voting can be participated in through the Gwangjin-gu Office website’s ‘Youth Portal.’
In addition, customized events for the younger generation such as busking performances, a youth free bulletin board, and comment events will be held, along with generous prizes.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We are implementing various policies for our youth who will play a pivotal role in regional development. Through the Youth Policy Promotion Exhibition, I hope our youth gain a lot of information and support. We will continue to listen carefully to the voices of youth and strive to develop youth policies that provide practical benefits. We ask for your interest and affection for Gwangjin-gu.”
