Opening Performance Features Kim Satgat Wandering Musical ‘Pungwolgga’
Diverse Stages Including Youth Dance Festival Presented
Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 12th that the opening performance of the ‘18th Yangju Arts Festival’ to be held on the 27th and 28th will feature the wandering musical ‘Pungwolgga’ about Kim Satgat.
The ‘18th Yangju Arts Festival,’ selected for the ‘2024 Gyeonggi-do Regional Representative Performing Arts Festival Support Project,’ will take place at Nari Farm in Gwangsa-dong, Yangju City.
This year’s Yangju Arts Festival will be held together with the ‘Yangju Ten Million Celosia Festival,’ offering visitors a variety of cultural and artistic performances along with diverse attractions and entertainment.
In particular, the wandering musical ‘Pungwolgga’ about Kim Satgat, a historical figure from Yangju, will be performed on the main stage at Nari Farm at 7 p.m. on the 27th. This specially created work aims to shed new light on Kim Satgat’s life, adding significance to the festival.
On the following day, the 28th, various stages will be presented, including the 4th Youth Dance Festival showcasing the talents and skills of young people, the ‘Feast of Yangju’ performance by the Music Association and the Korean Traditional Music Association, congratulatory performances by the Yangju Entertainers and Artists Association, and the Celosia Yangju Citizen Song Festival.
During the festival period, in addition to performances, various side events will be held to provide abundant attractions and entertainment.
