"Family, after all" Husband becomes brothers' 'ATM'
Brother-in-law asks to raise nephew after divorce
Also covers sister-in-law's implant costs
A wife suffering due to her husband being a 'pushover' among his siblings has come to light.
JTBC's 'Case Manager' reported on the 11th the story of a wife who is in conflict because her husband is constantly manipulated by his older brother and sister. According to the report, the informant's father-in-law passed away 30 years ago, and the property was entirely inherited by the husband's older brother (ajubeonim). Since then, the mother-in-law, who was left alone, has been cared for continuously by the informant and her husband. However, the ajubeonim squandered the inheritance recklessly and, after his divorce, even pushed his young children onto the informant and her husband to take care of.
Later, when the husband faced difficulties and asked the ajubeonim for help, he flatly refused. Yet, whenever he himself was in trouble, he always contacted the husband. Recently, he even demanded, "Please gift a car to my nephew." The ajubeonim was living on a pension after retirement, and the nephew, who was in his forties, was not engaged in any significant economic activity.
The wife tried to dissuade her husband, but he bore all the additional costs and gifted a used car to the nephew. He also had a 5 million won implant done for his sister-in-law, which frustrated the wife. When the wife confronted her husband, saying, "Please stop fulfilling your siblings' requests," he instead snapped, "Be quiet," and scolded her. The informant told 'Case Manager,' "I am really exasperated by the unreasonable requests from my in-laws and my husband who accepts all of them."
Netizens who read the story responded with comments such as, "I don't understand why he goes that far when his wife is struggling," "This is truly selfish behavior," "The siblings are shameless and have no decency," and "If I were the informant, I would consider divorce quickly."
