The Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation conducted a river cleanup volunteer activity on the 12th at Sinrichon in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do.
The foundation produced and spread ‘EM Soil Balls,’ a mixture of eco-friendly Effective Microorganisms (EM) fermentation liquid and loess, into the river.
This activity is part of the ‘Follow the Green’ project, planned to practice eco-friendly management in celebration of the foundation’s 8th anniversary. The project includes not only river cleanup activities but also various efforts to promote ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) management, such as participating in the Tantan Road activities, special lectures on proper waste separation, and promoting eco-friendly companies.
The foundation has been spreading ESG culture by collaborating with the 1365 Volunteer Center, encouraging small daily practices such as using tumblers, handkerchiefs, avoiding leftover food, and using reusable shopping bags, as well as holding ESG slogan contests for employees.
Additionally, the foundation holds special lectures on proper waste separation for companies and employees participating in job projects within the province and produces promotional content for startup companies that manufacture eco-friendly products, thereby promoting ESG management together with local businesses.
Yoon Deok-ryong, CEO of the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation, emphasized, "Through this project held to mark the foundation’s 8th anniversary, we recognize the importance of environmental protection and are actively practicing ESG management. We will continue to strengthen various environmental protection activities and ESG management to contribute to the local community."
