Scheduled for Completion in October
Miryang City in Gyeongnam Province will temporarily open the expanded and paved section (L=1.64km) of National Road No. 58 between Jedae and Orye in Bubuk-myeon starting from the 12th, to provide transportation convenience for citizens and visitors returning to their hometowns during Chuseok.
The Jedae-Orye section is a project to expand the road from two lanes to four lanes, with a budget of 18.8 billion KRW (provincial funds), as part of the key facility support plan for the development of the Miryang Nano Convergence National Industrial Complex.
This section began construction in May 2021 and is scheduled for completion in October this year. It is expected to significantly contribute to the smooth handling of cargo and reduction of logistics costs for the Nano National Industrial Complex by connecting with the Hamyang-Ulsan Expressway, which is set to open in 2026, and Local Road No. 1080.
Mayor Ahn Byunggu said, "I would like to thank the citizens for their patience during the construction period. With the temporary opening of the Jedae-Orye section, transportation convenience and safety are expected to improve significantly," and added, "We will make every effort to ensure that the road facilities connected to the National Industrial Complex are completed without any setbacks in time for the opening of the Hamyang-Ulsan Expressway."
