Haman County Holds Final Preparation Briefing for the 36th Aragaya Cultural Festival

The 36th Aragaya Cultural Festival will be held for three days from October 11 to 13 at the Haman Museum and the Marisan Ancient Tombs site. In preparation for the successful hosting of the festival, the "36th Aragaya Cultural Festival Final Preparation Status Report" was held on the 11th at the Haman County Office in Gyeongnam.

This report meeting was organized to ensure the successful hosting of the cultural festival, which commemorates the first anniversary of the Marisan Ancient Tombs' inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over 100 people attended, including County Mayor Cho Geunje, members of the Aragaya Cultural Festival Committee, heads of related organizations and groups, and county officials.

On this day, after an explanation of the current status of the Aragaya Cultural Festival preparations, the meeting proceeded with a review of event plans and schedules by field, preparation details, and matters requiring cooperation from related organizations. Participants also exchanged opinions on the significance of the festival and ways to further develop it.

The opening ceremony on October 11, the first day of the Aragaya Cultural Festival, will begin with a b-boy performance by "FLOWXL," the winning team of the 2nd Haman Street Dance Festival held last April, and a performance by Yoo Dohyun, the grand prize winner of the 15th Haman Maiden Boatman National Song Festival. In addition, a variety of experiences will be offered, such as a laser show to heighten the festival atmosphere, special performances by Park Aeri and Poppin Hyunjoon, performances of Gagok (a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage), pansori, the Aragaya musical gala show, Aragaya Fantasia, the Marisan Healing Concert, and various hands-on and promotional events.

According to Haman County, with the effect of the Marisan Ancient Tombs' UNESCO World Heritage inscription and the overlap with the National Sports Festival being held in Gyeongnam this year, an even greater number of tourists are expected to visit the festival. Accordingly, the festival is being organized so that both residents and tourists can participate and enjoy, and thorough preparations are being made.

In addition, as a large number of tourists are expected, measures for traffic and parking will be implemented, and thorough attention will be paid to event safety, including providing rest areas for visitors.

In his greeting, Mayor Cho stated, "This year's Aragaya Cultural Festival, under the theme 'Stroll through the Marisan Ancient Tombs,' will further strengthen the historical and cultural content held at the Marisan Ancient Tombs to welcome both residents and tourists. I ask for your active support and cooperation so that the Aragaya Cultural Festival, a pure historical and cultural festival, can be held successfully."
