Dongseo University Webtoon Department Emerges... 'Gijang Webtoon Wave Exhibition' Held

Nine Students, Nine Colors: Exploring Creativity Beyond School Walls

Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) will hold an exhibition featuring illustrations, character designs, and webtoons by nine students from the Department of Webtoon from September 6 to 29 at the Art Space Mar Gallery.

The participating artists are nine students from the Department of Webtoon at Dongseo University: Kang Dayoung, Kim Hyeyoung, Park Hyejin, Park Sunmin, Oh Seungjoo, Lee Sowon, Lim Dayoung, Seok Yeonju, and Seo Yujin.

This exhibition aims to showcase the diverse works of aspiring artists who are embarking on new challenges, and to foster emotional closeness and a sense of connection with the audience through direct interaction.

In particular, this exhibition features more than 20 outstanding and creative works by students from the Department of Webtoon, including webtoons, illustrations, characters, drawing galleries, live drawing shows, caricature events, and meet-the-artist sessions, which have received positive feedback from visitors.

Going forward, the Department of Webtoon plans to continue organizing exhibitions that allow students to interact with visitors, providing opportunities to boost their confidence and sense of accomplishment, and further strengthening the department's specialized competitiveness.

Third-year student Kang Dayoung said, "Through this exhibition, I was able to experience various artistic expressions and creative ideas. Although there were some challenges during the preparation, I believe we were able to successfully hold the exhibition thanks to the feedback from our professors and the support of fellow aspiring artists. I learned and felt a lot, and I hope to continue having such experiences in the future."
