The 'Hantangang Garden Festa,' where the scenic views of the Hantangang columnar joint canyon and beautiful flower gardens harmonize, opened on the 7th at the Hantangang Ecological Landscape Complex in Gwanin-myeon, Pocheon-si.
According to Pocheon City on the 12th, the 'Hantangang Garden Festa' is a vast field-type garden of about 80,000 pyeong located one hour from the Seoul metropolitan area. It consists of various seasonal flower gardens such as the rose garden, cosmos garden, and kochia garden, as well as themed gardens like the stone tower garden, artist garden, and topiary garden. Visitors can also experience the longest Y-shaped suspension bridge in Korea, spanning 410 meters across the Hantangang River.
Various attractions such as a large swing and eco-friendly electric bicycles are also available. In particular, the electric bicycles are carriage-type models that families can ride together, making it easier to explore the expansive ecological landscape complex.
On weekends, various performances and experience programs, including △garden busking △garden horticulture classes △instant garden photography, and events are held.
Especially fitting for a pet-friendly tourism city, there is a dog playground where pets can enjoy the festival, and on weekends, various programs for dogs such as dog walking training, agility obstacle experiences, and hygiene grooming are operated.
Additionally, a variety of food booths and a handmade souvenir sales market called ‘For You Market’ are operated. Visitors can also find excellent local agricultural products from Pocheon through a direct transaction market for regional farm produce.
The Hantangang Garden Festa will be held for six weeks until October 13. The admission fee is 6,000 KRW for general visitors, with 50% of the admission fee refunded in Pocheon Love Gift Certificates. Admission is free for Pocheon citizens, seniors aged 65 and over, and preschool children.
The eco-friendly electric bicycle rental fee is 30,000 KRW per hour for general visitors, which can be exchanged for 15,000 KRW worth of Pocheon Love Gift Certificates. For Pocheon citizens, the electric bicycle rental fee is 15,000 KRW, exchangeable for 8,000 KRW worth of Pocheon Love Gift Certificates.
The ‘Hantangang Y-shaped Suspension Bridge’ can be crossed together upon entering the Hantangang Garden Festa. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the Pocheon Hantangang columnar joint canyon, a UNESCO Global Geopark, from the best observatory.
