Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) announced the final successful candidates for the 2024 1st Public Official Recruitment Examination (Grade 8 and 9 Open Competition) on the 12th, with a total of 666 people passing.
The local public official recruitment examination determines the final successful candidates through written and interview tests in accordance with the 'Local Public Officials Appointment Decree.' Starting this year, interview grades (Excellent, Average, Poor) will be disclosed to satisfy examinees' right to know and ensure transparency in the examination process. These can be checked at the local government internet application center.
The 1st recruitment examination was held on June 22 for the written test, with 859 out of 4,368 applicants passing. Among those who passed the written test, 666 candidates were finally selected through the interview test conducted over eight days from July 31 to August 9.
By recruitment field, 431 passed in the administrative sector and 235 in the technical sector. Among them, 4 were selected through the disabled quota and 10 through the low-income quota.
The gender distribution of successful candidates showed 350 females (52.6%) and 316 males (47.4%), indicating a slightly higher proportion of female passers.
The average age of the final successful candidates was 29.26 years, slightly higher than last year's 29 years. By age group, those aged 26-30 accounted for the largest portion at 43.1% (287 people), followed by 20-25 years at 26% (173 people), 31-35 years at 18.6% (124 people), 36-40 years at 6.3% (42 people), 41 years and older at 5.9% (39 people), and under 19 years at 0.1% (1 person). The youngest successful candidate was 18 years old, and the oldest was 52 years old.
The final successful candidates must register as appointment candidates* through the personnel departments of the province, city/county, provincial council, or city/county council from September 23 (Monday) to September 25 (Wednesday). Those who fail to register will be treated as having forfeited their appointment.
