New Salgu Also Reaches 10 Million Bottles Sold in 5 Months
Lotte Chilsung Beverage announced on the 12th that 'Saero,' which was first introduced in mid-September 2022, has surpassed a cumulative sales volume of 400 million bottles in just 22 months since its launch.
Saero gained explosive popularity in the domestic alcoholic beverage market immediately after its release, with sales rapidly increasing. It achieved cumulative sales of 50 million bottles within 4 months of launch and surpassed 100 million bottles in 7 months.
Continuing steady growth, Saero exceeded 400 million bottles in cumulative sales in 22 months. This means an average of about 580,000 bottles were sold per day. If 400 million bottles of Saero, each 20.5 cm tall, were stacked, the height would allow traveling back and forth between Seoul and Busan (430 km) 95 times, which is enough to circle the Earth twice and still have some distance left.
In April, Saero Apricot was introduced by adding apricot juice to Saero, reducing the bitterness of soju and adding a refreshing taste. Saero Apricot, tailored to consumers' needs for low-alcohol beverages and various types of alcoholic drinks, has surpassed 10 million bottles in cumulative sales within 5 months of its launch, receiving great love from consumers.
To increase consumer engagement, Saero and Saero Apricot have conducted various promotions. Right after its launch, Saero held guerrilla performances in commercial areas with high foot traffic in the metropolitan area to raise brand awareness among the public.
Additionally, in September last year, to celebrate the 1st anniversary of Saero’s launch, a pop-up store themed around Saerogumi’s birthday party was opened, followed by pop-up stores in Daejeon, Daegu, and Busan. These pop-up stores held across the country attracted over 1,000 visitors daily on average.
A Lotte Chilsung Beverage official said, "The reason Saero was able to surpass 400 million bottles in cumulative sales ahead of its 2nd anniversary is thanks to the love of consumers," adding, "We will continue to strive to introduce products that meet consumers' needs."
