16 Certifications Acquired and MOU Signed

HD Hyundai announced on the 12th that it will showcase the future of decarbonization and digital technologies at Gastech 2024, the world's largest gas exhibition held in Houston, USA, from the 17th (local time) to the 20th.
Vice Chairman Jung Ki-sun of HD Hyundai, along with executives and employees from sales, research and development, and engineering departments, will attend the event to introduce eco-friendly technologies to global companies such as shipowners and classification societies, and discuss ways to advance the shipbuilding and shipping industries.

Additionally, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, HD Hyundai Mipo, HD Hyundai Samho, HD Hyundai Marine Solutions, and HD Hyundai Electric will form a comprehensive exhibition booth. They will display models of eco-friendly vessels such as next-generation LNG carriers, Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRU), and liquefied carbon dioxide carriers.
During the event, HD Hyundai will sign a total of 16 technology certifications and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with global classification societies and companies. In particular, they will showcase advanced technologies in the digital transformation and decarbonization of gas carriers.
HD Hyundai will receive a basic certification (AIP) from the Norwegian classification society DNV for cloud-based digital twin ship virtual sea trial verification technology for LNG carriers. This technology integrates digital twin models of key LNG carrier systems such as engines, power, and gas on the cloud to form a single vessel, enabling objective verification of the ship through virtual sea trials.
From the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), HD Hyundai will obtain basic certification for unmanned engine room design and safety control solutions for ammonia-powered vessels, enhancing crew safety. They will also receive multiple basic certifications for eco-friendly bunkering vessels. Basic certification for ammonia bunkering vessel development will be obtained from Lloyd's Register and others, and basic certification for LNG bunkering vessel development will be received from the Korean Register.
An MOU for joint development of ammonia fuel supply systems will also be signed with the Korean Register. HD Hyundai Marine Solutions will receive basic certification from the Norwegian classification society for ship carbon dioxide capture, liquefaction, storage, and equipment (OCCS) retrofit.
An HD Hyundai official stated, "We possess leading technologies in ship decarbonization and digital transformation," and added, "We will pursue the realization of a sustainable future energy ecosystem through continuous investment and technological development."
