On the 12th, LG Electronics announced that the Life’s Good employee volunteer group will conduct volunteer activities from the 9th to the 13th (local time) at Sahart No. 79 School in the Gachuurt district of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.
LG Electronics explained that they revisited Mongolia to improve aging facilities at the high school level, following repairs at elementary and middle schools last year. Sahart No. 79 School is about an hour’s drive from downtown Ulaanbaatar. The elementary, middle, and high schools share the same campus. Approximately 3,000 students attend the school.
The purpose of this activity is to improve the poor educational environment and support the emotional growth of Mongolian youth through cultural exchange. It aims to convey LG Electronics’ brand philosophy of “continuing bold challenges with an optimistic attitude despite difficulties” to Mongolian students.
The volunteer group repaired classroom floors and made chairs for the cafeteria. They created rest areas on the playground and painted murals. They also maintained about 500 meters of unpaved road in front of the high school main gate. Additionally, they donated an “LG Electronic Blackboard.”
LG Electronics stated that over 30 volunteer employees with diverse talents and backgrounds participated. These included employees with qualifications such as architectural engineers and social workers, as well as those with extensive volunteer experience in facility repairs, mural painting, and educational mentoring.
Outstanding university students selected from the 10th class of the LG Electronics Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) Academy also joined. Besides volunteer activities, the university students organized cultural events with Mongolian students, including traditional performances and mini sports festivals.
LG Electronics said it is conducting activities worldwide to promote “Brave Optimism.” These include support for vulnerable overseas residential groups through “LG Hope Village,” improvement of educational environments for disadvantaged children abroad through “LG Hope School,” free vocational training support for low-income youth overseas through “Hope Vocational Training School,” and support for information utilization skills for disabled youth overseas through the “Global Disabled Youth IT Challenge.”
Yoon Dae-sik, head of external cooperation at LG Electronics, said, “As a global company, LG Electronics will fulfill its social responsibilities and continue various support efforts so that youth around the world can pursue their dreams.”
