President's Commendation Awarded to Choi Dae-kwang, CEO of Dongyang Ink
Kim Sung-kyu, CEO of Postopia, will receive the Order of Cultural Merit.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will award government honors to contributors to the development of printing culture at the 'Printing Culture Day' ceremony held on the 12th at the PJ Hotel Karadium Hall. A total of twenty-three people will be honored, including one recipient of the Order of Cultural Merit, one Presidential Citation, one Prime Minister Citation, and twenty Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism citations.
CEO Kim, who will receive the Order of Cultural Merit, unified the entire process from the production to the dispatch of postal printed materials. He contributed to the development of printing technology and the creation of an eco-friendly printing environment, securing fourteen related patents. He also worked hard on workforce development and community advancement through scholarship projects.
The Presidential Citation will be awarded to Choi Dae-kwang, CEO of Dongyang Ink, and the Prime Minister Citation to Kang Soon-ok, CEO of Hyundai Artcom. The former developed eco-friendly, high-quality printing ink and was recognized for contributing to the enhancement of print quality and eco-friendly printing. The latter operates a women- and disabled-person-owned business and has contributed to education and community development by carrying out projects such as the adult literacy textbook project of the National Institute for Lifelong Education.
The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism citations will go to Go Sang-ho, CEO of Banseok Wonsaek Printing; Kwon Soon-mo, CEO of Taekyung Jeonsan Form; Kim Gye-sook, CEO of Daemyung ITS; Kim Sang-man, CEO of Mundeok Calendar; Kim Sang-hoe, CEO of Interpro Communication; Kim Sun-ae, CEO of Seongmun Jeongpan Printing; Kim Sung-gi, CEO of Yeonhwa Communications; Baek Sung-ok, CEO of Shinwoo Press; and Seo Dong-yeol, CEO of Yurim C&P, among others.
'Printing Culture Day' was established in 1988 to commemorate July 25th of the lunar calendar (September 14th in the solar calendar) in 1447, when Korea’s first Korean metal movable type book, Seokbosangjeol, was printed. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism holds government award ceremonies every year on this day to boost the morale of printing industry workers.
