Gyeonggi-do Northern Autonomous Police Committee Distributes Moving 'Duriduri' Emoticons Sixteen animated emoticons featuring 'Duriduri,' the official mascot character of the Gyeonggi-do Northern Autonomous Police Committee.

The Gyeonggi-do Northern Autonomous Police Committee is distributing 16 types of animated emoticons featuring its official mascot character, ‘Duriduri’, for free.

The emoticons are designed for all age groups to use in daily life, including ‘Duriduri opening a good morning together’, ‘Duriduri celebrating and cheering’, and ‘Duriduri following traffic signals’.

To expand the friendly image of the autonomous police working with residents and to enhance communication with various age groups, the committee plans to provide the emoticons to the first 25,000 new subscribers of the Gyeonggi-do Northern Autonomous Police Committee KakaoTalk channel starting from 2 PM on the 12th.

By searching for and newly subscribing to the official Gyeonggi-do Northern Autonomous Police Committee KakaoTalk channel, or by temporarily blocking and then resubscribing for existing subscribers, the emoticons will be automatically granted and can be used free of charge for 30 days.

The committee’s official character ‘Duriduri’ is based on the pigeon, the provincial bird of Gyeonggi-do, symbolizing the partnership between Gyeonggi-do residents and the Gyeonggi-do Northern Autonomous Police, represented by the word ‘two’ (둘). The committee has been holding emoticon distribution events since last year.

The committee promotes information and projects related to autonomous police duties closely connected to residents’ lives?such as △life safety △protection of socially vulnerable groups △traffic safety?through social networking services (SNS) like ‘KakaoTalk Channel’ and ‘Instagram’. Additionally, to broaden communication with various age groups, the committee plans to continuously hold events that residents can participate in.

Lee Sang-ro, Chairperson of the Gyeonggi-do Northern Autonomous Police Committee, stated, "To establish autonomous policing together with residents, we will do our best to become a committee that communicates and empathizes with residents through various channels and methods."
