Budget Planning Survey and Resident Participatory Budget Project Selection Voting until September 19
Anyone who is a Mapo-gu resident or works/studies at a business located in Mapo-gu can participate
Mapo-gu (District Mayor Park Gang-su) is conducting a resident survey and voting for the selection of resident participation budget projects for the 2025 budget formulation until September 19, 2024.
This survey was prepared to enhance the transparency and efficiency of budget formulation and to actively reflect residents' voices in policy establishment and execution.
The 'Budget Formulation Survey' consists of questions regarding the direction of financial management, priority investment projects by sector, and awareness of the resident participation budget system to collect diverse resident opinions.
Additionally, a section was opened for survey participants to freely express their thoughts on the 2025 Mapo-gu budget.
The 'Resident Participation Budget Resident Vote' will be conducted on 25 projects selected through review by the project departments and the Resident Participation Budget Subcommittee from among 87 projects solicited from May to July 2024.
The voting targets include projects such as road and aging stairway improvements, government office restroom improvements, traditional market and shopping district revitalization projects, as well as projects for various groups including seniors, persons with disabilities, women, youth, and workers. Participants can vote for up to three preferred projects per person.
The results of the resident participation budget vote will be used as final review materials for the Resident Participation Budget Committee meeting held in September. The finally selected projects will be reflected in the Mapo-gu budget proposal and submitted to the district council. The budget proposal will be finalized after review and approval by the Mapo-gu Council.
Anyone who is a resident of Mapo-gu, or a worker or student at a business located in Mapo-gu, can participate in the resident survey and resident participation budget vote for the 2025 budget formulation on the Mapo-gu Resident Participation Budget website.
One hundred participants will be selected by lottery to receive mobile coffee coupons.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “We aim to actively reflect residents' voices in the 2025 budget formulation process,” and added, “We ask for your interest and participation so that the budget can be effectively used where residents need it.”
