The final program of the day, at 5:30 p.m., is a lecture titled ‘The Importance and Value of Humans in the AI Era’ by Professor Kim Kyung-il from the Department of Psychology at Ajou University.

Participation applications can be submitted online through the Lighthouse of Wisdom website by the 25th and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

This festival also features a ‘2025 Guro Book Theme Brainstorming’ event where residents can directly participate. The ideas from participating residents will be used to select the theme for Guro’s book next year.

On the 29th, the outdoor library ‘Reading Guro’ will operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., allowing visitors to enjoy healing and reading in a natural setting.

A Guro-gu official said, “We have prepared a reading culture festival where residents can lead and enjoy various reading-related experiences and the operation of the outdoor library,” and added, “We hope for much interest and participation.”

Previously, the district has been holding preliminary events such as the Guro Family Book Report Writing Contest from September 2 to October 31 for members of the Lighthouse of Wisdom, and the Reading Marathon Contest from July 20 to November 8.

The Guro Family Book Report Writing Contest is open to families with at least one member residing in Guro-gu, and applications can be submitted online or by email through the Lighthouse of Wisdom website by October 31.

The Reading Marathon Contest accepts applications until November 8. Participants, including infants, elementary students, and general groups (adults, youth, children, etc.), read books such as Guro’s books according to the marathon course they applied for and then submit a reading logbook at district libraries or small libraries.
