Park Gang-su, the mayor of Mapo District, visited Mangwon Market and Ahyeon Market on the afternoon of the 11th to encourage merchants who are struggling due to weakened consumer sentiment ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
Mayor Park Gang-su and related department staff inspected various parts of the markets, listened to the merchants' difficulties, and purchased ritual items such as fruits and meats to help revitalize traditional markets and promote consumption.
The items purchased by Mayor Park Gang-su at Mangwon Market and Ahyeon Market on this day were delivered to the Mapo Welfare Foundation to support neighbors in need within the community.
Mayor Park Gang-su said, “As this is a difficult time due to rising prices and weakened consumer sentiment, I hope everyone will have a warm and heartfelt holiday by purchasing high-quality products at affordable prices from traditional markets this Chuseok.”
