Jung Myung-ho "No Problem Due to All-Night Filming the Previous Day"
Actress Kim Sumi (76) recently appeared on a home shopping channel, where her hand trembled and she showed different behavior and complexion from before, sparking rumors of health deterioration. In response, Kim Sumi's family stated that "there are no health issues."
On the 8th, Kim Sumi appeared on a home shopping channel to promote the kimchi brand she operates. During the broadcast, her unusual complexion and behavior led to speculation and concern that she might have health problems.
After the broadcast, a netizen A posted a captured video of Kim Sumi's broadcast on an online community, writing, "Kim Sumi's health looks bad," adding, "Her face looks swollen, her hands tremble, her speech is slow, and the broadcast feels unstable." He also mentioned, "She started tearing the kimchi but couldn't finish tearing it."
Subsequently, A's post was shared across many online communities. Other netizens responded with comments such as, "I watched the broadcast and she looked short of breath and anxious," "Her right hand trembled a lot while holding sesame oil," "Isn't the hand tremor and slurred speech a sign of a stroke?" and "I'm worried because of her age and possible health issues." Especially after it was revealed that Kim Sumi was hospitalized due to fatigue accumulation following a temporary suspension of activities in July, voices expressing concern for her health increased.
Regarding this, Jung Myungho, director of Napalggot F&B and Kim Sumi's son, told Spotv News and Osen on the 11th, "There is no major health problem with (Kim Sumi), and she is still actively working." He added, "She continued filming after being hospitalized for two days in July." Jung explained, "She stayed up all night before the broadcast and had to film urgently before Chuseok. She probably looked that way because she was not in good condition." He also clarified that her slurred speech was due to "having dental implants." Furthermore, he added, "There were no major issues after discharge, and she plans to attend the wrap-up party for tvN STORY’s ‘Hoijangnimne Saramdeul’."
Born in 1949 and currently 76 years old, Kim Sumi debuted as an MBC 3rd generation public talent in 1970 and has since been active in various fields including dramas, variety shows, movies, musicals, and home shopping.
