Cheongsong County Holds Ceremony for This Year's Gender Equality Week

Slogan: "A Gender-Equal Society Where We Work and Care Together"

Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province held the '2024 Gender Equality Week Commemoration Ceremony' on June 10 at the Cheongsong Culture and Arts Center Grand Theater, organized by the Cheongsong County Women's Association Council.

This event was held under the slogan 'A Gender-Equal Society Where We Work and Care Together,' and was attended by over 400 people including County Governor Yoon Kyunghee, county and provincial council members, heads of organizations, and members of local autonomous groups.

The program featured a variety of activities such as commendations for meritorious individuals, a gender equality awareness improvement talk show, scholarship donations, and performances. In particular, the 'Gender Equality Awareness Improvement Talk Show' broke away from the traditional format of gender equality ceremonies and received an enthusiastic response from the attendees.

Following this, a special lecture by announcer Yoon Youngmi was held under the theme 'Happiness is Right Now!' where she engaged with the audience with her characteristic witty remarks, providing an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of gender equality.

Lee Younghee, President of the Cheongsong County Women's Association Council, said, "Through this commemorative event, I hope that a culture of equality will spread so that everyone can enjoy equal rights and opportunities without discrimination, respecting one another."

Yoon Kyunghee, County Governor, stated, "Our county has worked together with the local community to expand women's employment, eradicate violence against women, build safety networks, and create a gender-equal environment where work and family can be balanced. I hope this event serves as an opportunity to achieve more visible results in all areas of family and society."
