Ulsan City Holds Celebration Event for Hosting the 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo

On the evening of the 11th at 7 PM, Ulsan City will hold a celebration event for the successful bid to host the 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo at the Grand Performance Hall of the Ulsan Culture & Arts Center.

This event has been organized to commemorate the successful bid and to ensure the successful hosting of the expo. Distinguished guests who contributed greatly to the bid, such as volunteers and civic groups, as well as Lim Sangseop, Chief of the Korea Forest Service, and Thomas Konietzko, President of the International Canoe Federation, will be in attendance to grace the occasion.

The event will consist of two parts: a commemorative ceremony and a celebratory performance.

The first part will begin with a congratulatory performance by the city choir, followed by a progress report and a video featuring the journey to secure the 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo and related civic activities.

Additionally, one representative each from the business sector and the citizens will read a message wishing for the successful hosting of the Ulsan International Garden Expo.

The business representative is Lee Jinwoo, Head of Ulsan Business Cooperation Team at Hyundai Motor Company, and the citizen representative is Kim Mikyung, Ulsan City Public Relations Commissioner. After the readings, the message will be delivered to Kim Dookyum, Mayor of Ulsan.

Next, participants will share the excitement of the moment when the hosting of the garden expo was confirmed, and the first part will conclude with a citizen participation performance wishing for the successful hosting of the event.

The second part will feature a celebratory performance, with Koyote, the top co-ed group of the 2000s, opening the stage, followed by the five-member girl group Apink captivating the audience.

The finale will be joined by Cho Sungmo, host of the open art stage 'Duiran,' who will share the joy of securing the Ulsan International Garden Expo with the citizens.

Kim Dookyum, Mayor of Ulsan, stated, "The successful bid for the 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo was possible thanks to the strength of 1.1 million Ulsan citizens who stepped up as if it were their own business for the future development of Ulsan. I hope everyone enjoys the joy of this achievement to the fullest and returns home safely."

The celebratory performance will be broadcast nationwide through nine regional private broadcasters.

Meanwhile, to inform citizens about the successful bid for the 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo, Ulsan City is carrying out various promotional activities, including installing banners on the exterior walls of large buildings such as government offices, hanging street banners (lamp post banners) and promotional towers along the roadsides, and airing promotional videos through communication media.
