SKT TranStalker Supplied to Yeungnam University and Shinhan Bank
Supports 13 Languages Including Arabic and Spanish Effortlessly
SK Telecom announced on the 11th that it has signed a contract to supply the AI simultaneous interpretation solution 'Trans Talker' to Busan Transportation Corporation, Yeungnam University, and Shinhan Bank, following Lotte Department Store.

Launched in April, 'Trans Talker' supports a total of 13 languages including Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, and Spanish. When foreign tourists ask questions in their own language into a microphone installed in front of a transparent screen, the translated sentence in Korean is displayed on the screen of the information desk staff. Then, when the staff answers in Korean, the content is converted in real time into the tourist's language and appears on the monitor.
SKT, together with Busan Transportation Corporation, installed 'Trans Talker' at Busan Station on Busan Metro Line 1 and started providing the service from this day. Busan Transportation Corporation operates 'Trans Talker' contactlessly so that foreign tourists can conveniently use the service. 'Trans Talker' was installed in locations with high tourist traffic to allow interpretation services without visiting the station customer center.
Also, SKT has been providing AI simultaneous interpretation services to Yeungnam University since July. Yeungnam University introduced 'Trans Talker' to overcome language barriers and strengthen administrative services as the number of foreign students increased. Yeungnam University started the service at the 'Global Talent College', 'International Student Team', and 'Academic Records Team', where foreign students frequently visit.
Collaboration with Shinhan Bank began last month. Shinhan Bank supports not only foreign users but also hearing-impaired and senior users' financial tasks through the screen subtitles of 'Trans Talker.' Shinhan Bank operates AI simultaneous interpretation services at the 'Sillim-dong Branch', which has many senior users, and the 'Hanyang University Branch', frequently visited by foreign students, and plans to expand the service introduction in the future.
Kim Kyung-deok, head of SKT's Enterprise Business Division, said, "The expansion of this supply contract is the result of customers highly evaluating the advantages of Trans Talker, such as support for 13 languages and real-time interpretation," adding, "We plan to continue developing various B2B products combined with AI and present them to customers."
