AI-based Vehicle Damage Recognition for Automatic Repair Estimates
SK Speedmate is partnering with a German automotive data company to introduce an artificial intelligence (AI)-based estimation program.
On the 11th, SK Speedmate announced that it had signed a usage contract with Germany's DAT for three vehicle data solutions, including an AI automatic estimation system.
DAT is a German automotive data company founded in 1931. For this contract, An Mu-in, CEO of SK Speedmate, visited DAT headquarters in Ostfildern near Stuttgart, Germany, and met with Helmut Eifert, DAT's CEO, to discuss cooperation.
The solutions SK Speedmate is introducing include ▲ AI automatic estimation system ▲ imported car maintenance estimation program ▲ general maintenance parts catalog program. All three will be applied to SK Speedmate's imported car integrated platform, ‘Huckleberry Pro’.
The AI automatic estimation system is a solution that, when accident vehicles are photographed from multiple angles and registered, recognizes vehicle damage through AI and calculates the necessary parts and repair estimates. It is expected to reduce the insurance companies' burden of estimate verification and allow customers to quickly and easily understand the estimate scale, thereby enhancing transparency in parts distribution and labor cost calculation. The imported car maintenance estimation program provides estimation calculation functions suitable for the parts configuration of imported cars, helping to produce more accurate estimates for imported car accident handling. The general maintenance parts catalog program provides information on genuine and compatible parts by vehicle.
SK Speedmate plans to continuously develop AI and data-based services starting with the introduction of these solutions. Additionally, it aims to establish a foundation to expand the imported car maintenance business area to medium maintenance such as accident vehicle repairs.
An SK Speedmate official stated, "We will improve work efficiency related to parts distribution and accident vehicle handling, and enhance customer value through transparent information provision."
