During the visit, Vice Minister Park inspected the supply and demand trends of Chuseok seasonal products such as apples, pears, and Korean beef while touring the mart. He also met with Emart officials and consumers to hear on-site public opinion. This was to ensure that government policies aimed at reducing the national price burden, such as expanding the supply of seasonal products and supporting discounts, are being properly implemented.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs will increase the supply volume by 1.6 times compared to normal times to respond to the demand for seasonal products during the Chuseok holiday. In addition, support will be provided so that major seasonal products sold at large marts, online and offline distribution companies, and traditional markets can be discounted by up to 50%.
Vice Minister Park said, "The role of distribution companies is important for our agricultural products to be sold to the public at reasonable prices," adding, "We will make efforts to expand the supply volume of seasonal products and increase support for discounts on agricultural and livestock products to ensure smooth supply and price stability of Chuseok seasonal products."
