Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that it will hold the ‘2024 Fall Reading Up & Down Happiness Recharge’ Culture Day, a variety of cultural programs for residents visiting Gyeonggi Peace Plaza to enjoy the autumn season, which is ideal for reading.
Culture Day is expected to provide a time to recharge happiness by increasing (up) knowledge, enjoyment, and happiness through abundant reading culture programs including reading, performances, experiences, lectures, sights, and fun activities, and decreasing (down) carbon emissions and accumulated fatigue of residents through communication with books at the eco-friendly outdoor library.
On the 28th and October 26th from 3 PM to 5 PM, anyone visiting the Gyeonggi Peace Plaza Book Cafe with their family on weekends can participate in various cultural events.
On the 28th, in connection with the ‘2024 Gyeonggi Province Outdoor Library Reading Culture Festa,’ there will be a lecture on ‘Children’s Economic Education’ by author Kim Yura, who wrote ‘Reading That Makes Money for a Mother of Three Sons.’ Along with this, a residents’ market, Peace Oasis, Reading Festa, and other diverse and rich activities will be offered.
On October 26th, at the Gyeonggi Peace Plaza Book Cafe, there will be a picture book fairy tale sand art performance of ‘The Rainbow Fish’ suitable for families to watch together, along with a balloon art making experience.
Byun Sang-gi, Administrative Management Officer of Gyeonggi Province, said, “The Gyeonggi Peace Plaza Book Cafe plans and operates various reading culture programs that communicate through books, aiming to expand the reading culture and get one step closer to residents. It is a space where anyone can visit anytime to rest comfortably, and we will strive to make it a landmark of Gyeonggi Province’s eco-friendly outdoor libraries so that many residents can use it together.”
Meanwhile, at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Northern Office Gyeonggi Peace Plaza, through the ‘Lawn Film Festival’ screenings, ‘Residents’ Market,’ ‘Peace Oasis’ cultural performances, outdoor library ‘Reading Culture Festa,’ and ‘Book Cafe Culture Day’ operations, rich cultural performances and reading rest services are being provided to residents on autumn weekends.
