Sale of over 60 excellent agricultural and marine specialty products from Geumcheon-gu sister cities Namhae-gun, Goheung-gun, Hoengseong-gun, and Cheongyang-gun
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold the ‘Chuseok Sister Cities Agricultural and Marine Specialty Products Direct Market’ for two days from the 12th to the 13th at the district office plaza in celebration of Chuseok.
The direct market was organized to support the sales channels of farms facing difficulties by selling agricultural, marine, and specialty products from sister cities to residents, helping participants purchase excellent specialty products at affordable prices to prepare for Chuseok.
This year, four sister cities will participate: ▲ Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam (anchovies, salted seafood), ▲ Goheung-gun, Jeonnam (yuja ginger syrup, blueberry jam, red plum syrup), ▲ Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon (black soybeans, beef bone soup, Anheung steamed buns), and ▲ Cheongyang-gun, Chungnam (goji berries, Cheongyang chili powder, dried Cheongyang chili peppers).
Residents can purchase about 60 kinds of agricultural, marine, and specialty products from various regions at prices discounted by 10-35% compared to market prices at the direct market.
The market operates from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The district has been operating direct markets with sister cities every Lunar New Year and Chuseok holiday, offering a variety of high-quality specialty products at affordable prices, receiving positive responses from residents.
Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “I hope this Chuseok direct market event will help reduce the burden on residents preparing for the holiday,” and added, “We hope many people visit and enjoy a bountiful holiday with agricultural, marine, and specialty products from all over the country.”
