About 30 people, including Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, figures from various fields, academic officials, and representatives of various organizations, are expected to attend the opening ceremony.
The Geumcheon-gu Youth Counseling Welfare Center is a 'youth specialized counseling institution' that provides various services such as individual and group counseling, school violence prevention education, and outreach counseling to at-risk youth in the area, serving as a youth safety net in the local community.
The Geumcheon-gu Youth Support Center 'Kkumdeulim' supports out-of-school youth by considering their personal characteristics and needs, offering counseling, education, independence, and employment support. It also helps out-of-school youth grow into healthy members of society by addressing educational gaps and focusing on high-risk cases.
The Geumcheon-gu Youth Counseling Welfare Center and Youth Support Center 'Kkumdeulim' have been established as a new independent space at 17, Doksan-ro 32da-gil, with a total floor area of 359.72㎡, spanning from basement level 1 to the 3rd floor, to support at-risk youth and out-of-school youth.
The interior space is organized as follows: ▲1st floor includes an information desk, six counseling and treatment rooms, and a waiting room ▲2nd floor includes office space and a conference room ▲3rd floor includes a dedicated education room for out-of-school youth, an activity room, a barista training center, and a lounge.
The counseling and treatment rooms on the 1st floor are spaces for conducting psychological counseling programs for youth using the facility. The 3rd floor is a dedicated space for out-of-school youth and will be used for various programs, career education, GED support, and autonomous space.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “We will spare no effort in continuous interest and support so that no at-risk or out-of-school youth in the region are left socially marginalized, and that they can find emotional stability and grow healthily in mind and body in this new youth-exclusive space.”
