Homigot Square to Host Ecotourism Program 'Homigot Picnic Eotteom?' on 14th and 15th

Pohang City will host the Homigot Ecotourism Program ‘Homigot Picnic Eotteom(Autumn)’ on the 14th and 15th at Homigot Square, an area blessed with beautiful natural surroundings.

This event will feature a variety of hands-on programs that families can enjoy together.

The event will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and in celebration of Chuseok, visitors can enjoy traditional games such as Yutnori, Jegichagi, and Tuho recreation, as well as youth club performances and the Homigot Eotteom busking performances.

Main programs include: ▲‘Homigot Green Picnic’ held on the green lawn ▲‘Homigot Haenyeo Experience’ where participants can explore the sea with Haenyeo (female divers) ▲‘Homigot Sea Flea Market’ offering various experiences themed around the Homigot sea and ecology.

Additionally, the Homibada Marine Keeper Plogging will raise awareness about the importance of marine protection, and the coastal trail trekking course will allow visitors to appreciate the natural marine and geological resources of Homigot, increasing interest in ecological nature.

For hands-on side events, activities include ‘Making Cenozoic Fossils,’ which are often found in Pohang, ‘Toy Octopus Fishing’ using a magnetic fishing rod, and ‘Haenyeo Costume Photo Booth’ for a fun Haenyeo-inspired photo experience.

The ‘Homigot Picnic Eotteom?’ event will also be held on October 5th and 6th. On the 5th, it will be held alongside a national kite flying event, offering even richer content.
