Emart Voluntarily Recalls Two Models of Chinese Smartmi Fans... "Customer Safety First"

Emart announced that it will conduct a voluntary recall starting from the 10th for two types of 'Smartmi Stand Wireless Fans' imported and sold from China.


The recalled products are ▲Smartmi Stand Fan 2S (wireless) ▲Smartmi Stand Fan 3 (wireless), both manufactured by Beijing Smartmi Electronics Technology. The label attached to the bottom of the product must indicate 'Importer/Seller: Emart Co., Ltd.'

These products underwent formal import procedures, including obtaining the Korea Certification (KC) mark, and were sold from May 2020 to July 2022 through Traders, SSG.com, and open markets.


Emart explained that this voluntary recall is being proactively conducted to ensure customer safety due to an unexplained battery overheating issue occurring in the products.


Customers who own these products can bring the recalled items to the nearest Emart or Traders Customer Service Center regardless of the place of purchase. The 2S model will be refunded 110,000 KRW per unit, and the 3 model will be refunded 130,000 KRW per unit immediately. However, Emart Bucheon and Anyang stores are excluded.

An Emart official stated, "We have requested the relevant authorities to accurately identify the cause, and under the principle that customer safety is the top priority, we decided to proactively conduct a voluntary recall."
