As the Chuseok holiday approaches, rushing to complete tasks on schedule increases the risk that small mistakes can lead to accidents. Accordingly, industrial safety and health inspectors from local employment and labor offices nationwide will focus on inspecting eight major risk factors related to the three main types of accidents?falls, entrapments, and collisions?that can be prevented by adhering to basic safety rules.

In particular, each local employment and labor office will independently identify and thoroughly check the implementation of safety and health measures at sites such as ▲workplaces with concerns over unreasonable schedule or deadline reductions, workplaces with high risks of fire and explosion, and ▲sites where various tasks are conducted simultaneously in the same location.

Minister Kim Moon-soo of the Ministry of Employment and Labor urged, "Ahead of the Chuseok holiday, labor and management at all workplaces nationwide should refrain from rushing work unreasonably and instead double-check workplace safety management and address any deficiencies."

Meanwhile, from the 14th to the 18th during the Chuseok holiday period, the Ministry of Employment and Labor will designate emergency response personnel at headquarters, local offices, and the agency to respond promptly to urgent situations such as industrial accident emergencies. A risk situation reporting office and an accident monitoring and response center will also be operated.
